Don’t forget, tomorrow, Friday, Oct .9th, is our Pinckney PTO Movie Night! Come to the Pinckney gym, bring your pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, etc. and watch Big Hero 6 starting around 6:30. The 5th grade will be selling pizza and popcorn! All children need to be accompanied by an adult, please (no drop-offs). Look forward to seeing you there!
Hi guys! The Summer PTO meeting is coming together!! Yes, it’s later in the year than usual, but for good reason. Our new Principal, Kristi Hill will be able to attend and we would like to have everyone come out and meet her.
The meeting will be Thursday, July 30th at 6:00pm at the White School House (http://www.whiteschoolhouse.com) .
Traditionally, at our summer meetings, the PTO Board sets the dates for all upcoming events. This will be the business portion of the evening and then we will end with the Meet & Greet.
We will have finger foods available and I’m seeking out one or two child care providers (my own daughter is out of town). If you’d like to volunteer to bring food or help watch kids (or can refer someone), please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or better yet, text me 785-840-6640.
More updates to come!!
Looking forward to seeing you all!!
Pinckney PTO President
Dear Pinckney Staff and Families,
Superintendent Rick Doll is pleased to announce the selection of Kristi Hill as principal of Pinckney Elementary School, effective July 1, 2015, and pending Lawrence Board of Education approval. I’ve attached a news release for your review.
A Lawrence native, Mrs. Hill returns to her hometown with more than 20 years of experience as an assistant principal and special education teacher and assistant director in Indiana. After graduating from Lawrence High with the Class of 1986, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Indiana University.
The district appreciates the Pinckney staff and parents who participated in the interview process and looks forward to opportunities to welcome Kristi Hill home and introduce her to the Pinckney school community.
The district also thanks Kirsten Wondra for her leadership at Pinckney for the past two years. Mrs. Wondra will continue to support students and staff as the district’s assistant director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, beginning with the 2014-15 school year.

Hello all !! As you know, we are ready to start collecting items for the Really BIG Sale. The first Saturday drop off will be this weekend, Saturday, January 17th from 9AM-11AM. Please bring your items to the back of the school. Contact Amy Mason if you have any questions by email at email@example.com or call or text 785-840-6640. Thanks!!
More drop off dates will be scheduled and posted in the near future.
FYI: If you signed up to help at a PTO event (or class party) at the start of school potluck event, please note that those sign-up sheets were lost and hence, the reason you were never contacted. You can contact Amy Mason if you still have an interest in helping with the Valentines class parties or any other event. Thank you to those who signed up for events at the Pancake Flip (we promise not to lose those!).
Also, please note that Bob Arevalo, who really threw himself into his role as interim principal, has only a couple of weeks left before the return of Kirsten Wondra, so if you see him, be sure to tell him how much you appreciated his enthusiasm and ability.
