The Pinckney Teacher Wish List is now up on SignUp Genius (please see link below)! Anything you can do to help out our awesome Pinckney teachers would be appreciated!
Hi, everyone. I know many of you have expressed interest in donating to Kylar Walters’ family. As most of you know, Kylar was involved in an accident last Monday and is hospitalized in Kansas City in serious but stable condition. Mr. Arevalo said the family will most likely have an ongoing need over the coming months. If you would like to contribute, the best means of doing so at this point would be a Dillon’s gift card in any amount or cash that could go toward food and gas for the family. All donations should be dropped off to Sandy in the Pinckney office. Thanks! ~Amy Stuber
Two notes about Grandparents Day:
I know those of you who have time have signed up to help out at the Book Fair (and if you have time and haven’t signed up, please do!) But if you don’t have time during the day, perhaps you could contribute a dish to the Teacher’s Luncheon on Thursday, November 13th. Please sign up to bring a dish with the link below and then bring your item in anytime that morning. I’m planning on beginning the set up at 10am. Also, I would like one more set up volunteer, so please let me know if you would like to help me set up for this wonderful event (see link directly below)! ~ Amy Mason
OK, Panther Parents. Scholastic Book Fair only a mere week or so away and that Sign Up is looking a little sparse. Now might be a good time to tell you a little story. You all probably know Jamie Taylor, the person working hard to organize the Book Fair. Jamie’s awesome, she’s always been involved with Pinckney PTO and, like all of us, she’s busy. But did you know: Jamie no longer has a child at Pinckney Elementary.
Let me repeat that tidbit: The person volunteering her time to organize the book fair to benefit all Pinckney students, DOES. NOT. HAVE. A. CHILD. AT. PINCKNEY.
I know, you’re all, like, “What the what?”.
It’s because Jamie loves Pinckney and, you know what they say, once a Pinckney Panther, always a Pinckney Panther.
So, let’s not let this person’s selfless efforts on behalf of our children go unaided. If you’ve got 120 minutes to pitch in on Wednesday or Thursday, please consider signing up to help out. Here’s the link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49adad28a5ff2-scholastic1
Pinckney Parents: We’ve got the opportunity to help park cars this Saturday, Oct. 18th for the 2014 KU Jayhawk Jamboree Rowing Regatta. It’s a big chance to earn $1,000 for our PTO, which is a significant portion of our annual revenue for a days work. But WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE! We need to fill up to 18 three-hour slots (9am-Noon or Noon-3pm), so we’re asking for all hands on deck! Remember that PTO funding benefits you and your Pinckney students!

Pinckney needs at least two volunteers on Friday, Oct. 10th to assist with School Picture Day, from 7:30am to 11am. Help is needed in getting classes to and from the gym, also with hair and clothes. Volunteers will get a free picture package!
If you can help. please contact Sandy Bush, Administrative Assistant at SBush[at]usd497.org or call (785) 832-5800. Thank you!
Wanted to make sure as many Pinckney parents as possible saw this information:
Don’t forget: September’s PTO meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 11th, at 5:30pm in the Pinckney Library. Parents are ALWAYS invited to attend and take part!
